The Challenge

Community-based organizations meet rising demand with lean budgets, disconnected partners, and manual tools.

Lean budgets & capacity

Small teams stretched to meet growing demand.

Fragmented coordination

Care across partners is disconnected, with gaps in follow-up.

Manual tools & data

Paper makes outcomes hard to track and prove.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Questions, answered

Plans & onboarding

How much does CommCare cost for a community-based organization?
The Advanced plan is about $1,000 per month, billed annually, and includes up to 500 users, a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement, and the full feature set. Smaller programs can start on a lower paid plan, and larger programs can move to an Enterprise plan. See the Pricing page for a full comparison.
How long does it take to get started?
Most community-based organizations go live in weeks. Program coordinators build intake forms, care protocols, and dashboards themselves with the no-code builder, and Dimagi Academy training is included.
Do we need a technical team to run CommCare?
No. CommCare is designed for lean teams without a dedicated technology department. The drag-and-drop builder, role-based dashboards, and included training let coordinators manage the platform themselves.

Security, data & support

Is CommCare HIPAA-ready?
Yes. A HIPAA Business Associate Agreement is included on the Advanced plan, with no separate legal negotiation. CommCare is also SOC-2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified, with role-based access control and full audit logs.
Where is our data stored, and who owns it?
Your organization owns its data. CommCare offers a United States cloud hosting option, encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access control, and two-factor authentication.
Does CommCare work offline?
Yes. The mobile app is offline-first: field staff collect data without connectivity, and it syncs automatically when they reconnect, so home visits and screenings work anywhere.
What support does Dimagi provide?
Everything from self-service resources and Dimagi Academy courses to full implementation support. The Support Portal is open to everyone, and paid plans add a service-level agreement.
